Who are we?

The Nakitama Wardens started out as a simple rebel group led by Nakitama Yukiharu. His original goal was simply to go against his fathers wishes, and create a sort of understanding between mortals and the unknown. They seek to protect those that desire to co-exist, and keep others safe.

Eventually, a Yokai-hunting clan called the Inazuma took interest in the Nakitama Wardens, and decided to financially back them, under the agreement that they now serve as an extention of the Inazuma, and have their Lords son as one of the leaders. Yukiharu agreed, never enjoying the "leader" role anyways, and thus the Nakitama Wardens served as a secret group beneath the Inazuma, allowing Yukiharu and his retainers to do their business without being bothered.

The Nakitama Wardens are now trained as ronin, their ranking system reflecting that of the Inazuma's.

The Leaders...

Kibaa Inazuma

The Nakitama often falls to Kibaa Inazuma, the Lord of the infamous yokai hunting clan. While he mostly handles leading the missions, he is a trained ninja and skilled within the shadows. Out of all the higher ups, Kibaa is both cold yet playful. To many, he seems rather goofy and relaxed, though what lies behind those emerald eyes is a different story.

Kibaa's retainer, and rather cold in her demeanor. She is considered to be second, as his fiancé and the sister of Yukiharu. She also serves as the leader of the ANBU of the clan, though this information isn't given freely. She's a rather reserved kitsune, though at times can be seen showing her true demeanor when she gets rather pouty.

OUR RULES

FC RULES...

1. This is an 18+ RP FC, which means that anyone under age will not be allowed.2. We are a lore bending FC, meaning things within the fc will be believable within the ffxiv universe; this means we will also have things that aren't proven by lore, but also aren't denied by it. just like Yoshi-P said, have fun with it!3. We will be covering some heavy topics, so in addition to being an 18+, we are also a dark/heavy rp fc. We might be covering some triggering things such as; suicide, rape, self-harm, slavery, racism, etc. Before considering to join, please be aware that we might have some dark events. Not all events will be dark though, we also will have much more lighthearted ones! If an event also bothers you, you are not required to join that said event.4. OOC and IC are very different, and they do not equal each other. If you are caught having a problem distinguishing the two, you will get three warnings before a boot.5. Most supernatural characters are allowed. We accept beastmen, voidsent, yokai, the spoken, etc. Understand everyone has their own power level, but you are expected to icly respect leadership, and to respect each other oocily.6. NO GODMODDING. I understand everyone wants to RP themselves as powerful, but there will be times where your character is meant to be stressed/pushed to their limits for a mission, and if you simply say "oh that's too easy", or always have the answer, it's boring to read and no one will have fun. We have a wide variety of people in our FC, and we want everyone to have fun.7. Please keep in mind this is a supernatural based FC, and many of our personal events are yokai/spirit/voidsent related. We are also eastern based, but we will be traveling all over the place and even to the first and whatever other expansions come out.8. Lalafells are only allowed in if they are not NSFW or icly write out nsfw topics. We do not lewd lalafells here.9. We do not allow fetish characters such as futas, cuntboys, or anything else that fetishes a race, gender, sexuality, or being. We also don't allow childlike or child characters, or characters that are ERP alts/mains. If you erp, please do so privately!10. We are a LGBTQ+ POC friendly community and harassments of someone's gender identity, sexuality, religion, culture, or skin color will not be allowed.

The Lord and Lady

---

The Lord / Lady rank is given to the highest of the Wardens, considered the leaders. Most missions are vetted by them, and assigned certain members. Some of their duties include keeping the wards up around the estate, recruitment, politics, and the business. Though often busy, they assist members in their missions. The rank is currently unobtainable by others.Current Leaders: Tokugawa Miyuki, Inazuma Kibaa / Raiden, and Nakitama Yukiharu.

Samurai

The samurai rank are considered the retainers of the Lord and Lady. They are one of the ranks that know the existence of the ANBU section of the Wardens. They handle the specialized missions given to ANBU, and oversee rank changes and trials. Samurai are only deemed by the Lord / Lady. They are also the ones that keep order within the Wardens, and handles disputes.The only Samurai are NPC characters Hiromitsu and Kuro.

ANBU

---

A specialized force of ronin who deal with both yokai and mortal hunting. Often depicted wearing yokai masks, ANBU members keep their members in secret for the sake of the Wardens and themselves. They deal with assassinations and cleanup, keeping the Wardens enemies out of their way. These members blend in with the others, though they keep a watchful eyes on both the members and others...Current ANBU: Yuina Kaiihi, NPCs

Jonin

Jonin are experienced ronin that assist other members in their missions. Jonin are trusted members who are set to be teachers to the other inexperienced members. However, their job isn't just to teach. Jonin take lead if there is no other higher authority present. Jonin missions are often harder, with more complex situations, as they are trusted to investigate thoroughly. To gain the rank of Jonin, one must complete the Chuunin and Jonin trials.

Chuunin

Chuunin are members of the Wardens who have become full fledged members, and are experienced enough to no longer be new to the Wardens. Being one of the lower ranks means that they have no authority within missions, unless directed otherwise by a higher up. Chuunin have no duties other than the ones directed by higher ranks, and the missions that they have been given. Though studying up on yokai and the like would suit them well. Most members are Chuunin.

Recruits

The lowest of the low, recruits are as simple as the word. They are recently recruited members who have joined the Nakitama Wardens. While many members fall into this rank, those who have proven themselves worthy members gain the ability to rank up.

How to Get Ranks

❀ Ranks from recruit to Jonin are obtainable through simply roleplaying with the FC and consistently showing up and making an effort. Chuunin and Jonin both have trials / exams that are IC only, that will test the limits of your character and how far they've come.❀ ANBU and Samurai are both specialized roles, and offer no OOC power within the FC. Because these roles are specialized and offer IC benefits and "power", these roles are harder to achieve. Like before, you have to make a consistent effort to roleplay in and outside of events. Your character also must fit the criteria ICly in order to join ANBU, along with pass the trials that come with being one.Being in one of these specialized roles means that your character has a higher chance to fail missions, and the missions are generally harder. It isn't something to wave around like a trophy, and icly must be taken seriously. In the future, there will be more missions specifically to ANBU roles.❀ There is no point system, so there will be no "well I've gone to six events" and so and so. If the leadership feels like you've made a considerable effort, we will offer the promotion to you oocily and see if you feel like your character deserves it.❀ While ranks ICly offer benefits, we don't want people to focus solely on trying to get to the very top. It is why we kept our ranks simple and easy to understand. Take it slow and at your own pace. More ranks may be added into the future upon member request, but for the most part, these are the only IC ranks.

The nakitama

A self proclaimed clan by a powerful and old kitsune that achieved the status of deity by the name of Minato. Though this is not his original name, he chose it after taking the life of a samurai known as Takahashi Minato, and was moved by the warriors bravery ad resilience in battle.

Minato had gathered a considerable following, gathering an army for himself and taking over the underworld over a course of many years. He disliked the wild nature of the underworld, and went on to change it with many others, who also became the Shogunates of their respected lands. Though by th time he was finished and he had conquered and changed the realm, the source had already evolved into a different society. As he had only seen the East, it was of no surprise that the underworld changed to be a reflection of the past.The name "Nakitama" was made primarily because Minato found it amusing. He enjoyed that those of the source took last times because of the many death, but with those names came prestige. He spread this idea to the others, and it was during that time that the underworld truly began to change.Minato sired many children, though never claimed any of them and instead used them as servants or bodies for his army. Though many years later, Minato would sire three more children. Two children with a Hyur woman of the Tokugawa clan by the names of Miyuki and Yukiharu, and choosing them at the "rightful heirs". It's unclear why he chose half-yokai for this position, but he later had a child with another yokai after the death of Tokugawa Yukina, the Hyur.

The Akaicho

A clan led by red oni, and ally of the Nakitama clan by marriage. Despite being allies to the Nakitama clan, they are enemies of the Nakitama Wardens. Similar to the Nakitama, this clan rose up to power during the age of change and blood, and are fairly powerful themselves. It's said they named themselves the Akaicho clan due to their violent ways in battle, the blood looking like red butterflies.

Nowadays, the clan itself is led by Akaicho Ashikaga, though he has allowed his son, Akaicho Ichiro to take the lead on things. Though many know yokai can be ancient, the idea of children is a simple means for more power in the Akaicho clan rather than an heir to take the throne. This belief is strong within the clan, and Ashikaga is known to have over 100 children, but many of them are mere pawns and have died in war. The most powerful and only living one that Ashikaga has made use of, is Ichiro.The young oni was destined to marry a childhood friend of the Nakitama clan, Miyuki and therefor the pressure was heavy on him to do exactly what his father said. This would later come into fruition, though the pair did not last long, only lasting around 6 years before Ichiro's many attempts to take her life became obvious. Still, neither the Nakitama or the Akaicho clan shogunates would move a muscle to stop it.

The Inazuma

An ancient clan of yokai hunters, onmyoji and ronin that has since fallen into the shadows. Though many clans today in the East still remember the whispers of the Inazuma clan and their actions. They are known for their prowess in battle, slaying both yokai and man alike during the age of blood. Their deep rooted hatred for yokai goes back generations.

The Inazuma were once a group of unsettled and violent mercenaries, before ultimately banding together to become the clan itself during the Hingashi age of blood. During this time, the clan rose to power and merely uttering the clans name brought bad luck. They were feared by the majority of the East, until they would eventually fade into the shadows.While mostly unknown to the public, the Inazuma clan still exists today with a new young lord by the name of Inazuma Kibaa, a young man who had been infused with a raiju since birth, an ancient magic that the Inazuma used alongside their ninjutsu to become more powerful. This magic would change Kibaa's body, and therefor turn him into a yokai as well as the two merged.Due to this, the Inazuma have turned to a new chapter. Though their hatred of yokai still lingers within the clan, their young lord has brought change as he became allies with yokai and even married one.

The nakitama Wardens

The Wardens was born from malice and a childish desire to lash out at his fasher. Yukiharu and a few of the servants that were banished from the Nakitama clan banded together to make the "Nakitama Wardens", in an attempt to piss his father off for banishing him and doing good in the Nakitama name.

Though this plan would eventually fail, as it failed to gain the attention of his father and it also failed to change anything with it's name. The original plan was to be a barrier between the Spoken and yokai, or supernatural in general. Yukiharu wanted to do something good, and though the goal of the Nakitama has changed through the years its still fundamentality the same.While they have simply added to their previous goals, the Nakitama Wardens now serve as an extension of the Inazuma clan after banding together. Though they would have been deemed another name, Lord Inazuma found that their current name suited them enough and therefor it did not change. It is now known to those within the Inazuma, that this clan of yokai is a simple lesser sect of their own which has caused some internal strife amongst both groups.Though small in comparison to other clans, the Nakitama Wardens have made an effort to protect yokai that desire similar things, as well as work on finding more goals to add. In the yokai realm, the Wardens are known for rescuing lesser yokai, going on guard missions, and protecting yokai. In the source, this hasn't changed much except they now do this to The Spoken races as well.Despite being a lesser sect of the Inazuma, Yukiharu remains the lord of the "clan", despite having his sister and Inazuma Kibaa hold those titles to the public. It's only out of respect that Yukiharu holds such power within the clan, his two retainers being Kuro and Hiromitsu. Because of their close ties, the Inazuma often train the Nakitama Wardens as ronin like themselves, passing down their techniques (abeit hesitantly) to the young yokai looking for refuuge. Though things are shaky within their politics, neither side is willing to tip the scales.Due to them being an extension of the Inazuma, the Nakitama Wardens are not known to the public as so. Instead, they are known as a haunted teahouse under the guise of "Nakitama Teahouse."

Current important history

As the rightful heir to the Nakitama clan, Miyuki stands as a last obstacle to Ichiro and Asami, who desire the power themselves. Though Ichiro is technically married to Miyuki, she is since rumored to be dead due to him sending her to the Inazuma clan for execution. This allowed him and Asami to grow into power, and take over the Nakitama lands, though it's unclear why Minato has yet to step in.Though Ichiro had no idea that they would take mercy on Miyuki, and the lord would fall in love with her. He hadn't accounted for this, as to him Miyuki was a coldhearted demon. As rumors circulate that the heiress is alive, Ichiro scrambles to find the pieces in order to take her and the Wardens down once in for all.If theres a reason for this other than power, Miyuki is keeping such hush hush and doesn't speak often about her sister or ex husband. Though having two children of her own now, the Wardens and herself are in more danger than ever as her children are bastards yet still are a threat to the power that the two want.

We try to keep our lore as fair as possible, as well as add it from culture, other media, and from FFXIV to keep it all fairly interesting! This isn't to say you can't have your own personal weaknesses added to this, but this is just what we like to keep as a general consensus. You are by no means bound by these!
